The main role of the MediGuide is to be responsible for providing Medicare advisory services to Homethrive members. This includes everything from helping Homethrive members understand what is covered under their current insurance to helping them select a new Medicare plan during Open Enrollment. Helping Homethrive members understand and navigate their healthcare benefits assists them in healthy aging. Secondarily, the MediGuide is expected to carry a caseload of Homethrive members, providing, case management, etc.
Additionally, the MediGuide is responsible for oversight, collaboration, development, and implementation of service population educational webinars. This includes topics related to Medicare and insurance, as well as other pertinent topics to our member base (i.e. family caregiving needs, special populations, childcare etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Educate Care Guides and members on the ins and outs of Medicare, including providing formal presentations both internally and externally and providing updates to Medicare-related news
- Provide advisory services for new-to-Medicare enrollees
- Advise members on Medicare plan selection during Open Enrollment
- Promote Care Guide services and other Homethrive services to members that engage only with MediGuide
- Provide technical assistance, ranging from understanding what procedures, services, or prescription drugs are covered under someone’s plan to assisting members with gathering the right documentation for service authorization
- Educate and provide resources to members that are retiring or delaying their Medicare enrollment, including providing Social Security documents
- Facilitate referrals to our community partner, Chapter when appropriate
- Maintain communication with Chapter representatives and relay updates and new workflows to Care Team
- Collaborate with Homethrive’s Marketing team to create content for Dari platform
- Manage incoming requests for Webinar offerings
- Create and facilitate webinar offerings to Homethrive member base
- Maintain an active caseload of Homethrive members

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
- SHIP certified
- Successful completion of CMS’ Train the Trainer Program
Previous Experience:
- 5+ years of experience advising individuals on Medicare
- Background in Social Services preferred, but not required
